This is the personal and professional website of teacher Angharad Jeffery. I offer directly bookable bespoke intensive English language courses to guests in my home near Oxford.

I teach:

• General English
• Examination English (including all Cambridge exams, e.g. FCE and IELTS) and foreign exams (e.g. "Prépa HEC")
• Business English
• English for professional purposes
• Refresher courses for non-native speaker English teachers
• Conversational English with cultural visits.

You can study one-to-one or in a small private group (maximum: 4 people)

with your friends, colleagues or family. 

I am a very experienced and highly qualified teacher of English as a Foreign Language. I have taught English at all levels and for many purposes in the UK and abroad. 

My qualifications include a Masters degree in English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics, a Cambridge Certificate in English LanguageTeaching to Adults "CELTA" (Grade A) and a BA Honours degree in French.  I also have a UK Postgraduate Certificate in Education qualification in teaching Modern Foreign Languages, which gives me the additional status of being a teacher who is qualified to work in UK state schools. 

Student-centred tuition is one of the key features of one-to-one homestay courses.  You benefit from the teacher's complete attention, you can work at your own pace and you can focus on points which need particular attention. Booking and communicating directly with the teacher guarantees a genuinely bespoke course.

Needs analysis and careful advance preparation by the teacher are crucial for successful and effective intensive courses.  Your time is precious, therefore I will send you a short diagnostic test and ask you about your goals and requirements before you arrive.

Pre-course preparation by the teacher ensures that: 

• You will "hit the ground running" on Day One - testing and needs analysis will not take up valuable tuition time.  I will, however, continue to review your progress and refine the focus of your course to meet your needs throughout your stay.
• You are guaranteed high quality, genuinely bespoke tuition.
• I can devote more time to you outside lessons.

I can also offer flexible schedules, for example, you can request a 10-day course with 5 days x 3 hours of tuition, then 5 days of sightseeing and conversation.  I can also offer excursions and accommodation for accompanying guests. 

I offer a high level of accommodation in my relaxing home.  Prices include:

• Private bathroom (shower and WC)
• Breakfast
• Light lunch
• Dinner
• Local guided visits (longer excursions can be arranged)

We have a small but well-appointed modern studio room in central London.  This is available for guests who would like to explore London at weekends or at the end of their course.
