There are many interesting places to visit nearby, for example:

Blenheim Palace - birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill;

Stratford-upon-Avon - birthplace of Shakespeare and home of the Royal Shakespeare Company and theatres;

The Cotswolds - an area of outstanding natural beauty;

Bicester Village Shopping Outlet - a major discount retail outlet with about 130 designer shops, including Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Dior and Charles Tyrwhitt.

Highclere Castle - a country house in the Jacobethan style, with a park designed by Capability Brown. The 5,000-acre (2,000 ha) estate is about 60 minutes south of Oxford. The castle was used as the main filming location

for the award-winning period drama Downton Abbey. The great hall and some of the bedrooms located inside the building were also used for filming.

BMW Mini factory (this tour requires advance booking);

Heritage Motor Centre Motor Museum - the world's greatest collection of classic and veteran cars;

Silverstone F1 motor track for races, track days and driving experiences and the

Aston Martin Heritage Trust Museum.

Full day excursions

Oxford is located in the "Heart of England", conveniently close to a motorway and several other major roads.  It is therefore is easy to reach many other UK destinations relatively quickly, for example:

Stonehenge

Bath: famous for its Roman Baths and Jane Austen

Cambridge: another beautiful university city

Stonehenge: the famous prehistoric monument

Windsor Castle: one of the Queen's royal residences

Brighton: seaside town and home to the Royal Pavillion

Derbyshire: famous for beautiful scenery, Chatsworth House and birthplace of the Industrial Revolution.
